While we try to teach our children all about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about.

Welcome to Thomaston Center School!
Principal's Message
Thomaston Center School is one of three schools in the Thomaston Public School System and serves approximately 250 students in grades four through six. Located in scenic Litchfield County, our school is nestled in a friendly and close knit community of about 7,800 residents.
Boys and girls enter our school around the age of eight or nine years old and leave when they are just entering their teenage years. Our entire staff and faculty appreciate this unique time in children’s lives when they pass from childhood to young adolescence. Our beliefs about teaching and learning are grounded in understanding the immense social, emotional and intellectual changes that take place during this relatively short period of time. We are committed to guiding children towards becoming independent and eager learners who find value and worth in the pursuit of education.
While students at Center School, students are exposed to a comprehensive curriculum in the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, technology education, music, art, physical education and character development. Through our educational program, students grow and develop academically, physically and socially. Parents are a welcome part of this journey, and open communication between families and staff is encouraged to support individual student success.
Please take time to peruse our website. If you have are in need of any additional information or have questions you need answered, do not hesitate to contact me through the school’s main number or via email which can be found on this website.
